Rusty Powder from powertex is used to imitate natural rust. Mix the powder with Powertex or Easy Structure and spread it with a palette knife or brush. Spray a mixture of water and vinegar on the surface. Repeat adding vinegar water until desired oxidation is achieved.Let it dry for 24 hours or more.
