I really wanted to paint nice little paintings myself.
The thing is that I can't draw well, so this was what always held me back.
Until a while ago...I thought I'd just start and use examples from the internet.
What do you need?
I took a small canvas of 20 x 20 cm and various brushes.
And I used various types of paint, all well-pigmented paint such as Decoart americana, pentart acrylic paint and pebeo acrylic paint.
I hear you thinking why not all from the same brand?
Well, I simply don't have all the colours of all brands in my private range.
So to use the colours that are needed, I just use the colours that I have in my private range and that is from different brands, and that works just fine.
Finished with a
matt water-based varnish.
How do you proceed?
I already mentioned that my drawing skills are not that great, and then the internet is your best friend.
There I saw a beautiful colouring page of a magnolia and I used that for inspiration.
First I made the blue background with various shades of blue and some white acrylic paint.
When that was dry I transferred the printed magnolia onto the canvas with carbon paper.
Then you have the guide lines and the painting can begin.
I really did this by feeling, because the coloring page had no example of colors, but that's the fun part.
Mixing colors is wonderful.
Another tip from this side, put perfection far back in the cupboard... and enjoy painting.
It doesn't matter what it looks like, it's all about the fun you get from it.
Colorful greetings Agnes
