There was a time when it was totally hip to have white statues in your garden, I still have them.
But to be honest, I don't think it radiates such an atmosphere in your garden.
Now you can easily transform the figurines into colorful items with acrylic paint.
And so it seems as if you have completely new statues.
But it is also possible that you have figurines that have been weathered during the time they have been outside.
You can also easily breathe new life into these figurines.
You first make sure that the figurines are completely free of dust.
Are the statues weathered make sure you remove all loose particles, use a scouring pad for this.
Let everything dry well.
Then you apply a primer on the figurines, this can be plain white paint, but can also be done with gesso.
This will let you dry well.
Then the fun work begins, painting the figurines.
I first looked up a photo of a robin and a blue tit to see how the colors are.
And then the painting can begin.
I used different types of acrylic paint.
You can simply use acrylic paint from different brands together.
I chose americana and amsterdam paint, these are well pigmented acrylic paints.
You can mix the colors wonderfully until you have the right color.
When everything has been painted and has dried well again, I have applied varnish to protect the paint.
With us they are under a roof, so 2 layers is enough, but if they are really outside in the rain, I definitely recommend 4 layers.
Use a good water-based varnish.
I would say use the spring to bring some color to your garden and start painting.
Have fun with it.
