Paint a stone.

Start with a nice walk, and pick up some stones along the way and take them with you.

At home you wash them under the tap, and you can actually start drawing right away.

Use a pencil to draw the main lines on the stone.

Tip use carbon paper if you can't draw very well yourself, print out a simple drawing from the internet and transfer it to the stone with the carbon paper.

The painting can then begin.

You can apply the colors with acrylic paint, using thin brushes.

The advantage of this is that you can mix nicely and apply color gradients.

This really isn't as hard as you think, it just takes practice.

You can also work with acrylic markers.

The Posca markers are the best acrylic markers, these are markers with quality acrylic paint in them.

So you actually color just like on paper. For beginners, this is often a safer feeling to have more control over the paint.

The black lines as a finish are best drawn with a good waterproof black marker, or with the Posca pen.

By doing this you complete the entire drawing.
